Where dolls become lifelike babies!

Thanks for stopping by my page to learn more about me and the way I make my babies.  My name is Melissa Anguiano, I am a mother of 4 children 3 of them being younger than 5.  I look at my baby girl while she is sleeping, trying to capture her baby expressions, the way her viens can be seen, the detail on her feet.  I use this when reborning my babies.  I strive to make each baby more realistic and lifelike than the last.  No baby is ever made the same, using the same color combinations, so each baby in there own way is a special one of a kind.  I only list one or two babies a month so if you see a baby that tugs at your heart strings be sure to bid, because I will never make one exactly the same again.

PRECIOUS PHOEBE
~MY BABIES COLORING~

Each of my babies are gently disassembled all factory paint removed, then washed in a gentle cleanser.  I start by painting (using acrylic paints)the inside of each baby for a lifelike coloring, then once dry shading certain areas where babies skin are more tranparent, I then paint more layers in several different color combinations. I try to make each babies coloring start from within.  I then enhance the outside color by colorwashing, in many layers in many different color mixtures.  I dont stop until I get to me what is the perfect coloring.  I then blush the outside of baby using quality oil paints. This process takes days even a week or more to complete, I let each layer absorb into the vinyl and then start another layer.  I shade areas, and highlight each and every crease for as much realism as possible. I pay special attention to the ears and bottoms of feet. I shade each nail bed paint on the tips and seal them for a look of tiny little nails that where just clipped.  I recolor my babies lips to have the a lifelike coloring of most little ones lips.

~MY BABIES BODIES~

Each of my babies has a jointed 100% poly suede body called moleskin suede.  It is very soft, and a little flexable so that posing baby is so much fun. Each baby has a little star on its bottom and usually comes signed by me.  I stuff the cloth portion of the limbs with cluster stuff.  Cluster stuff it hypoallerginc, gaureented never to bunch up over time, and is super soft.  The vinyl limbs are filled with sterlized decor sand and then sealed, so nothing leaks out.  She will have a sealed cloth bag of sand in her tummy that runs down the middle of her torso so that he/she is evenly weighted throughout her body. Baby's bag of sand is surrounded by poly pellets which is surrounded by cluster stuff.  Her head is weighted with a cloth sealed bag of poly pellets and is left to be floppy, unless baby is an older baby.  I use small ties to secure the limbs and little bit bigger of one for the head to make sure it is very secure.

IS OLIVIA REAL?
~MY BABIES EXTRA SPECIAL TOUCHES~

All of my babies have there nose opened up. I sculpt open there nose to have the shape of a real babies nose.  I back there nose inside with a dark multi colored felt.  If baby is awake I change there eyes using either Masterpiece eyes or Real Eyes, both of which has the most amazing realistic look.  I hand apply eyelashes to match there hair coloring, and paint on there eyebrows one lash at a time so each lash looks seperate from the other.  Each baby will either come with a Kemper mohair wig or hand rooted mohair.  I usually use german mohair or high quality mohair that I dye to the color I want.  I give each baby a magnetic pacifer.  I from time to time make baby a custom outfit.

ssshh Olivia is sleeping!

I think I have covered everything, if you have any questions please feel free to email me.  From time to time I take custom orders.  Making these babies for me is making a work of art. I picture how I want each baby to look, and work very hard to acheive it.  I put my heart and soul into each and every baby, I love to watch them come to look like the lifelike babies they represent.
